zrp.jpgThe Zimbabwe Republic Police has stepped up its security systems at all border posts to curb criminal activities as the World Cup rolls into life.


Following calls for sanity at border posts especially the Beitbridge border post, the police in partnership with immigration, ZIMRA, and other security agencies have finally cleared unruly elements at border posts that were burnt on causing commotion.


Police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Oliver Mandipaka said a check- up point has been introduced at the border for screening purposes.


 “There will be A 24 hour deployment of police officers and a checkpoint has been set up at the Beitbridge border post to facilitate smooth movement of traveler,.”said Superintendent Mandipaka.


Chief Superintendent Mandipaka revealed that police will be deployed at fan parks where fans will be watching the World Cup games.


centre has been established at the Police General Headquarters to coordinate operational activities during the World Cup with emphasis on serious crimes such as armed robbery, drug and human trafficking.
