The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has stepped up efforts to ensure free, transparent and credible harmonised elections slated for this July.
With the country in election mode, the ZRP is also putting up measures to ensure credible elections ahead of the harmonised plebiscite.
In a bid to ensure that the police are reading from the same script, the Commissioner General of Police Godwin Matanga toured Mashonaland Central Province to meet with police officers.
Officer Commanding Police in Mashonaland Central Province, Senior Assistant Commissioner Rangarirai Mushaurwa said they have intensified patrols to curb crime across the province.
Zimbabwe is heading for harmonised elections this winter and police officers are on high alert to deal with any forms of violence.
