The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) High School has held a fundraising golf tournament to raise funds to build an electronic laboratory at the school on the outskirts of the capital in Hatcliffe.
The annual golf tournament is in its fourth year and was held at the ZRP golf club in Harare.
More than 24 corporate teams participated in the individual stable ford tournament meant to raise over $120 000 for an electronic laboratory at the school wholly owned by the police force.
The tournament was meant to raise funds for the construction of the electrical laboratory at the school after several students have shown acumen for the sciences and participated in science expos in South Africa and the Intel Science Expo in the United States where one student finished fourth.
The school headmaster, Mr Johannes Chingonzoh said the school has talented students with a penchant for the sciences and hands on skills which need to be nurtured and developed and will not focus on academic subjects but skills development.
Organisers hope to attract more corporates and individuals and improve their fund-raising initiatives.
The school which caters for children for serving members and other civilians has a proud tradition of being among top schools in the country with a very good and high pass rates for ordinary and advanced level examinations.
