Police Commissioner-General Augustine Chihuri made the call in Harare where he said the organisation is aware that some political parties have begun their campaigns and urged them to campaign peacefully.

Commissioner-General Chihuri said the force will not tolerate political violence and those found wanting will be dealt with.

Zimbabwe is this year set to conduct its referendum followed by general elections.

Commissioner-General Chihuri also urged police officers to brace themselves for the two important events, adding that they must be professional in conducting their duties.
