zps zimondi.jpgThree Senior Assistant Commissioners in the Zimbabwe Prison Services who were promoted to the rank of Deputy Commissioners have been conferred with their new ranks by ZPS Commissioner, Retired Major General Paradzai Zimondi.

The three are Deputy Commissioners Rhodes Moyo, Huggins Machingauta and Fadzai Mupure.

The conferment follows their promotion by the Head of State and Government and Commander-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, President Robert Mugabe.

Commissioner Zimondi applauded members of the force for remaining resilient and selflessly serving their nation despite the hardships being faced as a result of illegal sanctions imposed on the country by the West.

Commissioner Zimondi raised concern on the need for ZPS to get better premises for their Headquaters as the current ones lack proper structures and are situated near industrial sites.

Deputy Commissioner Huggins Machingauta said as Deputy Commissioners they are committed to serving their country.

Deputy Commissioner Fadzai Mupure who was promoted in 2009 but was not conferred as she was on a UN peace keeping mission in Darfur, Sudan, has made history by becoming ZPS’s first female Deputy Commissioner.
