Just over a week remain for the close of nominations for the Zimbabwe Olympic Committee (ZOC) elections which are set to be held on the 30th of this month.
ZOC chief executive officer Anna Mguni says the National Olympic Committee sent out a notice of the elections on the 22nd of March paving way for the nomination process where to date only one person has sent in their nomination paper.
Among those eligible to will be the ZOC athletes commission chairperson who is set to be elected this weekend.
The nomination verification process has been set for 22 April.
The posts of president, two vice presidents, treasurer and 7 board members will be up for grabs at the ZOC polls on 30 April.
Admire Masenda is reportedly vying for re-election as ZOC president, a position former Zimbabwe Karate Union president Joe Rugwete is allegedly eager to vie for with Thabani Gonye another name being touted as another possible candidate.
