Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC) says this year’s annual congress scheduled for later this month will focus on current challenges bedeviling the national economy and possible solutions to achieve the projected growth rates.
With the country’s economy facing liquidity constraints owing to continued existence of illegal economic sanctions imposed on the country by western nations, the business community will converge in the Eastern Highlands to deliberate on the challenges and seek ways of ensuring growth targets are achieved.
ZNCC president, Mr. Trust Chikohora said the business community intends to engage regional and international financial institutions to unlock long term funding.
The national congress will run under the theme: ‘Economic Transformation Challenges, Mapping The Way Forward’.
The economy is projected to grow by 9.3% this year from 8.1% last year with growth being attributed to good performances in mining, agriculture and tourism sectors.
