The Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) has hosted the Harare District Wellness Day as part of initiatives to promote good health within the force and the entire country.

Members of the uniformed forces thronged the KG VI to attend the event that was attended by other players in the health sector to augment efforts to promote wellness activities by the national army.

Guest of honour at the wellness day, Brigadier General Tendai Elliot Dzirutwe, who represented ZNA Commander, Lt General Philip Valerio Sibanda said the event is being held in response to health challenges facing the country that require concerted efforts not only from the government but also from individuals and organisations to improve the national health situation.

Brigadier General Dzirutwe said there is need for Zimbabweans to adopt pro-health lifestyles in order to ward off conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes and cancer, which has taken a toll on the society.

The Harare District Wellness Day was running under the theme: ‘Healthy Body and Healthy Mind.’
