The Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) targets to raise at least half a million United States dollars this year to fund a number of charity activities in support of the needy in the society.

The ZNA hosted the Harare 2017 Charities Ball in the capital and the event has grown to be the flagship of the organisation’s fundraising activities.

In his address at the 2017 Charities Ball, ZNA commander Lieutenant-General Philip Valerio Sibanda thanked different organisations that continue to support the life changing initiative stating that the support has seen the organisation embarking on a number of national development programmes.

South Africa based Zimbabwean businessman who is the founder and chief executive officer of the giant Bigtime Strategic Group Mr Justice Maphosa who was guest of honour at the event described the ZNA charity programmes as one of the most transparent and progressive initiatives that are worth supporting.

The ZNA has lined up a number of fundraising activities that include the Bulawayo Charities dinner dance and golf tournament scheduled for the first and second of September this year.

The organisation is using the proceeds to construct schools, hospitals and support demining activities among other key projects.
