The Zimbabwe National Army concluded its inter-formation reconnaissance platoons competitions in the harsh terrain of Kariba.
The competition, involving 7 reconnaissance or recce platoons, lasted a week in the rough terrain of Kariba.
Part of the competition covered tactical river crossing, bush craft, tracking, ground to air control and memory test among others.
Guest of honour at the conclusion of the recce platoon’s competition Brigadier General Steven Gwekwerere reminded his charges of the importance of skills perfection during times of peace in preparation for combat in defence of the nation.
“We must be ready to fight the agents of regime change by all means possible as they launch asymmetric warfare targeting to subvert the military in particular and the generality of the population at large,” said Brigadier General Gwekwerere.
The competition’s closing ceremony was held at Wafa Wafa Base.
