The Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) will continue to discharge its constitutional mandate of defending the national sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity in order to ensure that peace prevails in the country.
This was revealed by the ZNA Chief of Staff Quartermaster Staff, Major General Sibusiso Moyo in Nyanga.
The 12th edition of the Nyanga March and Shoot Platoon competition drew 12 platoons together as they shared and inculcate fundamental military ethics and values.
Major General Moyo said training is the epic and nerve centre of any army, adding that the Zimbabwe Defence Forces is mandated to defend territorial integrity, independence and sovereignty.
He added that the Nyanga March and Shoot Platoon competition provided a platform to evaluate the operational efficiency of formations and units and to check progress on commanders training directive.
Major General Moyo commended all the participants for diligently executing major tasks that included map reading and navigation, platoon battle drills, obstacle crossing, ground to air control and civil military relations among others.
Commando regiment was the overall second runner up, with 3 Infantry Brigade becoming the first runner up with parachute regiment being crowned the overall winner.
