znarmy charity race.jpgAll is set for the 14th edition of the ZNA Charity Race, in what promises to be a great family day at the Borrowdale Race Course this Sunday.

There are numerous events on display for the public which will guarantee the day to be a festive one.

The main attraction is undoubtedly the ZNA Charity Race itself, which is the feature in a 7-race programme. The race has for long been the major fund-raising vehicle for army charities.

Army charities get most of their assistance from donations given by both the public and corporates and this year the Zimbabwe National Army hopes to raise over 500 thousand dollars.

The 14th edition of the ZNA Charity Handicap itself has attracted a competitive field of 7 runners including last year’s winner, Splendid Tambur, trained by Lisa Harris.

One of the top contenders is without doubt Got Personality, the only filly in the 7-horse line up hailing from Noelene Peeche’s yard.

Got Personality leads two other stable companions in Imperial Dice and Philippian, 2 runners that have shown good form and are expected to mount a strong challenge for hours.

Sebastian D’Aquino sends out two runners in Airwolf and Ray Sauce. Kirk Swanson brings out one runner for the race – Jiminy Cricket which must be respected on account of its recent return to good form.

The ZNA Charity Handicap which will be contested over 1 800 metres at Borrowdale Race Course this Sunday has a stake of US7 500 dollars.
