The Zimbabwe Junior Golf Association has held a closing dinner ceremony to honour the countries which took part in the just ended All Africa Junior Golf Challenge at Royal Harare Golf Club yesterday.

Speaking during the closing dinner ceremony, Minister of Sport and Recreation Honourable Makhosini Hlongwane emphasized the need for governments and national sport associations to invest in junior development.

Team South Africa dominated the All Africa Junior Golf Challenge with their 16 year old, Kajal Mistry breaking her own course record of 69 when she shot 67 on Thursday.

However, despite having not won gold, Team Zimbabwe will also send junior golfers to participate at the prestigious annual Toyota World Junior Golf Championships in Japan slated for October this year.

Countries which took part include Botswana, Kenya, Malawi, Mauritius, Morocco,Namibia, Reunion Islands, South Africa, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia, Tanzania and Rwanda.
