The Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) got underway in Bulawayo with an increased participation by both local and foreign exhibitors.
Running under the theme: ‘Sustainable Industrial Development: Inclusive, Competitive, Collaborative,’ this year’s trade fair has seen a 40% increase in exhibitors with indications that the Zimbabwe is open for business mantra by the new political dispensation is not falling on deaf ears.
The annual international trade showcase has been described as a vital cog in the success of the economy by highlighting the opportunities that are before the country as it creates platforms for potential investors to engage with local businesses.
Some of the foreign exhibitors who spoke to the ZBC News expressed excitement at the opportunities that have been availed by the new dispensation, noting that there were a lot of avenues for cooperation between their businesses and locals.
This year’s edition of the fair runs between Tuesday and Saturday with the first three days set out for business players only, before the public is allowed in Friday and Saturday.
