netball in zim.jpgThe Zimbabwe Netball Association (ZINA) is set to spread its net in search of talent ahead of the Africa tournament scheduled for Tanzania in May.

The Association is seeking to increase competition in all regions as the country prepares to take part at the Africa tournament which will run from the 8th to the 12th of May in Tanzania.

ZINA President Leticia Chipandu said it is not good to have teams from just one province and hence the need to spread the net to improve the standards of the game.

“We want to make sure there is meaningful competition in all provinces of the country, that is getting more teams into the super league in all regions.

It is no good to have teams coming from one province only. We would also like to come up with a fundraising committee to raise funds for the different activities ZINA ought to participate in,” she said.

ZINA Super League which is expected to start on the 1st weekend of April has 20 teams.

Bulawayo side Railstars are the reigning champions.

Meanwhile, Chipandu was re-elected ZINA President at the association’s annual general meeting held in the capital last Saturday.
