The Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Cde Monica Mutsvangwa says the government is doing a lot in addressing gender imbalances and ensure social protection of women.
Minister Mutsvangwa is among the Zimbabwean delegation attending the 63rd Commission on the Status of Women conference in New York.
Over 100 000 women are participating at the conference, where the empowerment of women through gender sensitive recruitment has taken centre stage.
Minister Mutsvangwa said the government has shown commitment in addressing gender issues and the increase in the number of women ministers in Zimbabwe is testimony to the commitment.
The UN Secretary General, Mr Antonio Guterres’ message on the need for socio economic empowerment of women has the potential to move mountains and change the narrative of women.
