Zimbabwe National Parks and Wildlife Authority (Zimparks) rangers have launched a massive hunt for a stray lion that has been terrorising villagers and livestock in Chipinge.

The lion has so far killed two cattle within three days, the second in Chidongo village under Headmen Chivhunze just three kilometres from the site where the first cow was killed.

Chipinge ward 7 councilor, Lordwin Sigauke said the local villagers are at least consoled that Zimparks has deployed rangers to deal with the situation, adding that their hope is to see the lion killed to prevent the loss of human life.

The rangers have already set traps in an effort to kill the lion.
