Thousands of people thronged the National Heroes’ Acre to pay tribute to the sons and daughters of the soil who sacrificed their lives for the freedom the country enjoys today.

“We came from Chitungwiza, just to celebrate our heroes and remember the gallant sons and daughters who gave their lives for our freedom,” said one of the people who were at the National Heroes Acre.

“We respect the role played by the gallant sons and daughters in liberating this country,” said another person at the Heroes’ Acre.

The message has been peace, love and unity as Zimbabweans honour the living and departed heroes and heroines of this country.
