All is set for Sanganai/Hlanganani Tourism Expo which kicks off on Thursday with the major highlight of the event being the launch of the Tourism brand code named â€˜Zimbabwe â€“ A World of Wondersâ€™.
The Tourism Destination Brand is a position statement which tells the world what the country has to offer to the market.
The new branding code named Zimbabwe – A world of wonders pin points that Zimbabwe is endowed with a lot of tourist attractions such as warm and friendly people and unique culture, the mighty Victoria Falls, the Great Zimbabwe National Monument, its rich history and heritage, wildlife and the lake Kariba, Matopos and the Eastern Highlands.
Zimbabwe Tourism Authority Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Karikoga Kaseke said since Zimbabwe will be branded a country of wonders the sector has come up with 7 wonders that tourists should not miss when they visit.
â€œThese wonders contribute immensely to the high degree of attractiveness that positions the destination as a prime tourist destination in the world.
â€œIt is heartening to note the growth of Sanganai from a small fair to such a big African exhibition that attracts exhibitors and buyers from all over the world. This year the private sector have come in strongly to partner government in the hosting of buyers as they have contributed 35% to their stay,â€ Mr Kaseke said.
Meanwhile, contrary to speculative reports that ZTA has failed to raise money to host the Sanganai Tourism Night which has become a brand over the years, Mr. Kaseke said the move was taken to pave way for Jamaican Reggae musician Beeni- manâ€™s show on the same Saturday.
Sanganai Fair targets among other exhibitors the national tourism boards, international airlines, tourism destinations, leading wholesalers, tour operators and travel agents, leading hotel chains, car hire and tourism operators, investors and supplies of goods and services to the tourism industry.
