Talks between Zimbabwe and Zambia stakeholders in the tourism industry are currently underway, with a view of paving way for free movement of tour operators between the two countries so as to enhance tourism development.
The engagement between the two neighboursâ€™ tourism stakeholders seeks to address concerns by operators with those in Zimbabwe, saying they have been experiencing challenges in accessing the Zambian market.
The Zambian Ministry of Tourism, Environment and Natural Resources Director of Tourism, Ms. Justina Wake said discussions have been in place for the past 15 years to ensure that travellers are allowed entry into the other country.
Zimbabwe Council for Tourism Head of Secretariat, Ms. June Muchemeyi-Nazare said tour operators are upbeat that the issue is being discussed which will open more business avenues across the Zambezi.
The Zambian delegation arrived in the country on Saturday on an educational tour which would equip them with what their Zimbabwean counterparts are doing in marketing the tourism industry.
