The Ministry of Women’s Affairs, Gender and Community Development says the much awaited Women’s Microfinance Bank is set to open next week.
The first women’s bank in the country that was recently granted license to operate began its operations on the 29th of May and the commencement of banking transactions will start on the 12th this month.
Minister of Women’s Affairs, Gender and Community Development, Cde Sithembiso Nyoni said the much awaited Zimbabwe Women’s Microfinance Bank is set to provide financial assistance to women entrepreneurs.
The facility will benefit particularly marginalised women and is set to compliment other women empowerment facilities including the Women’s Development Fund, Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Horticulture Fund and Women’s Empowerment Fund among others.
The bank will be officially launched later this month.
