The Zimbabwe Young Warriors return to battle for regional supremacy, hoping for a good run at the Cosafa U-20 Youth Championships.

Zimbabwe will now have to settle affairs with only two nations, host Botswana and Swaziland following the withdrawal of Malawi.

Malawi has cited financial difficulties as they already have their senior team participating at the on-going Cecafa Championships in Tanzania.

The withdrawal will give the young Warriors an edge as Botswana remains their biggest opposition in their quest to bring back the regional silverware.

Young Warriors’ players who were part of the team’s 2009 campaign, have hinted that an understanding of one another will be Zimbabwe’s greatest asset.

Last year, Zimbabwe bowed out in the group stages, allowing Botswana to progress on a superior goal difference in a tournament that was eventually won by South Africa.
