The Ministry of Youth Development, Indigenisation and Empowerment together with the Zimbabwe Youth Council (ZYC) will this year host the commemorations of the Africa Youth Day which will see more than 300 foreign delegates descending on Manicaland province.

Ministers of Youth from across the continent are also expected to grace the occasion.

Chairman of the Zimbabwe Youth Council, Mr Donald Charumbira said this year’s event will enable the youth to share experiences among themselves on best practices that will empower them.

A lot of activities have been lined up during the celebrations such as workshops and a visit to historic sites such as Chimoio shrine in Mozambique.

“Zimbabwe through the ZYC will host the Africa Youth Day at Mutare Polytechnic College. The theme for this year which was set by the Africa Union is ‘Dialogue and Mutual Understanding’.

“Through dialogue and understanding we can built a better Africa. We are encouraging all the youths in Zimbabwe to come and celebrate this day,” Mr Charumbira said.

This year’s event will see Zimbabwe’s youths celebrate the coming aboard of regulations in the local legislation which specifically empower the youth and indigenous people.
