The country is set to take part at the forthcoming 11th COMESA Investment Forum scheduled for Dubai from the 22nd to the 24th of this month amid high expectations for the local industry to exploit the investment opportunities in the United Arab Emirates market.
The investment conference, which is set to attract over 500 delegates from COMESA member states, is expected to enhance trading relations between the region and India as well as avail investment opportunities within the region to potential international investors.
In a telephone interview, Regional Integration and International Cooperation Permanent Secretary, Mr Tedious Chifamba expressed optimism that significant business will be generated from the investment meeting.
Economic analysts contend that the synergy that exists between Dubai and the COMESA region has the potential to promote rapid economic growth within the Eastern and Southern African regional block.
Dubai is the leading capital of business in the Middle East and has established itself as the city of economic progress.
The 4th COMESA Investment Forum will among other things highlight opportunities in the region and promote collaboration between COMESA member states, the rest of Africa, the Middle East and the world at large.
