Zimbabwe is expected to benefit from the US$60 billion Chinese facility for African countries through the construction of the African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF) headquarters.

Eight African countries including Zimbabwe were selected as beneficiaries of the US$60 billion facility in socio-economic developmental facilities that have a potential of improving living standards of the people at the just ended Forum on China Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) held in Beijing, China.

Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to China Mr Paul Chikawa told journalists that through the facility Zimbabwe is expected to get funding for the construction of the ACBF headquarters in a move that indicates confidence on the economy.

“The funds are there and we just anticipate a lot more to happen in the future from the Chinese facilities,” he said.

The construction of the ACBF headquarters in Zimbabwe is also being anticipated to facilitate growth of key developmental facilities that have a potential of increasing output, creating jobs, focusing on technical skills, facilitating technical expertise, mobilising resources, budgeting for developmental programmes among other issues.
