Volleyball fans are in for a rare treat following two potential all Zimbabwean quarter-final affair encounters in both the men and women categories at Zone VI volleyball club championships underway in Bulawayo.
While UZ is yet to confirm their qualification position, Pool A winners in the women’s category, Harare City will square it off against Super Select of Zambia.
Should UZ manage to beat South Africa’s Kamplits, they will set up an all Zimbabwe quarter-final encounter against either Spartans or Support Unit.
Other women’s teams through to the next stage include Botswana’s BDF VI and VUT of South Africa.
In the men’s section, an all Zimbabwean quarter-final affair is on the cards should UZ win their next encounter which would bring them head on with Artwell Gororo’s NABA.
Other qualified men’s sides include Red Skins of Lesotho, Autorida deMozambique, Uni Jozi of South Africa that boasts of four zimbabwean players, Green Eagles and Police VI.
Some of the coaches that have managed to progress to the knock out stage conceded that competition is getting tougher but put up brave faces ahead of their next encounters.
Quarter-final action gets underway tomorrow before the semi-finals on Friday and the finals this Saturday.
