The Zimbabwe men’s basketball team is in camp gearing up for the 2011 All Africa Games qualifiers and is hoping for better fortunes in its showdown with regional rivals South Africa on the 8th of next month.

The Zimbabwe men’s basketball team which has been in camp for the last two months, is leaving no stone unturned in its mission to qualify for the All Africa Games set for Mozambique in September next year.

 

The tournament will also be used to select teams that will participate at the Africa Country Championships that will be held during the same time as the All Africa Games.

 

National team coach, Ngoni Mukukula said although beating the South Africans in their backyard is never an easy undertaking, they are nevertheless confident of causing an upset.

A provisional squad of eighteen players is currently in camp gearing up for the All Africa Games Qualifiers.

 

The provisional squad will in the next 2 to 3 weeks be trimmed to the final pool of 12 players who will embark on the journey down south for the All Africa Games qualifier against South Africa on Africa on the 8th of next month.
