Zimbabwe has scooped three prestigious tourism awards at this year’s Africa Investor Tourism Investment Awards ceremony putting the country’s tourism industry on the world map.

The tourism investment awards were created to recognize the achievements of corporates, organizations and individuals’ outstanding contribution to the growth of the sustainable tourism investment in Africa.

Guest of Honour at the award ceremony Vice President Cde Joice Mujuru urged tourism stakeholders to take advantage of the ongoing summit to come up with business initiatives and partnerships with regional players for sustainable development.

Cde Mujuru also encouraged international delegates to report positively on what the country offers as well as marketing the country as a first choice investment destination.

Award winners said the awards received shows due recognition for the quality in the country’s tourism industry and should spur stakeholders to work harder.

Zimbabwe scooped the best prize in the upcoming tourism destination in Africa category, while native Investment Africa group walked away with the best hotel investment prize and the Africa Sun team won the best prize in hospitality management.
