Netherlands based Zimbabwean rower, Paul Zwanikken has set a long term goal of representing the country at major events in the future.

It may not be the most popular of sports but rowing boasts of vibrant club and school activity.

Paul, a Bachelor of Science in Communication and Game Design student at the Hanzehoge School University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands, is in his first year and currently rows for Aegir, a rowing club in Groningen.

Speaking to the ZBC News, Zwanikken said club rowing has been an exciting experience as he looks forward to a prosperous 2018.

Zimbabwean rowing has an intriguing history with the name Micheen Thornycroft coming to mind when ever one has to talk about the sport.
