lovemore_moyo.jpgZANU PF says the re-election of MDC-T’s Lovemore Moyo as House of Assembly Speaker is a big victory for the country’s legal system and not any political party.

The election of Lovemore Moyo has been described by ZANU-PF as a non-event if celebrated in the context of partisanship.

The party’s Secretary for Information and Publicity, Cde Rugare Gumbo told ZBC News that the Speaker’s election does not only vindicate Zimbabwe’s democratic structures, but is a victory for Zimbabwe’s legal system that sought to correct an initially flawed process that resulted in Moyo’s election to the Speaker’s post in 2008.

A legal expert, Advocate Ashton Musunga also hailed the country’s legal system for refusing to rubber stamp an initially flawed legal process.

He pointed out that Moyo’s re-election to the Speaker’s post is a clear demonstration that the country’s democratic process has passed the mark.

Meanwhile, Cde Gumbo also rubbished the bribery allegations leveled by the MDC at ZANU PF ahead of the Speaker’s election saying ZANU PF is a party of people with a conscience who would never indulge in such activities.
