The Zimbabwe junior darts team won the zone six championships held in Germinston, South Africa after putting up a remarkable performance.

The Zimbabwe darts team powered to gold at the zone six darts championships.

Zimbabwe accrued 438 points to end top of the table ahead of Botswana who were second with 276 points.

South Africa was third with 236 points with Lesotho fourth on 133 and Swaziland in fifth place with 125 points.

Dumisani Ndlovu and Ryan Ncube scooped gold in the under 15 boys doubles final after overcoming fellow countrymen Riaan Hassam and Tinoziva Nhundu.

One of the under 15 star players Damalzar Mlilo landed gold in the girls singles.

Another all Zimbabwe affairs ensued in the boys under 15 where Ncube claimed gold after getting the better of Nhundu in the final.

In the team events Zimbabwe scooped silver in all age groups but emerged the overall winner having accumulated the most number of points.

The Zimbabwe junior team returned home on Sunday (yesterday) and the National Darts Association of Zimbabwe secretary general, Stephen Mwarindira said the team showed great potential.

Zimbabwe’s senior darts team will be the next team to compete at the zone six championships next year with the juniors now set to shift focus to Swaziland in 2019.
