tractors.jpgOutgoing Iranian Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Mr Rassoul Momeni, says the first phase of the Zimbabwe-Iran tractor project will be completed in about a month’s time with the arrival of a batch of fully assembled tractors to Zimbabwe.

Mr Momeni was bidding farewell to the Head of State and Government and Commander-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, President Robert Mugabe, at state house in the capital.

Development projects between Zimbabwe and Iran are also underway in the telecommunications, health, broadcasting and agricultural sectors, where an agreement was signed to establish a tractor assembling plant in Zimbabwe.

Mr Momeni said Iran will participate at this year’s Zimbabwe International Trade Fair to promote its tillage and agriculture machinery in Zimbabwe.

He expressed hope for Zimbabwe’s economic recovery, saying the country has an abundance of an educated and highly skilled workforce.

Mr Momeni also has been given the freedom of the city of Bindura.
