Cde Kasukuwere said this after receiving an assortment of goods from some locally based Iranian companies in Harare.

Upon receiving the goods, which he said he will donate to Mt Darwin Hospital in his Constituency, Cde Kasukuwere said the Islamic Republic of Iran has proved to be Zimbabwe’s true friend as evidenced by its co-operation with the country in many sectors.

“We expect good friends who come with no strings attached. Iran’s tractor company will continue to develop the country’s agriculture sector, it has blessed the policy of indigenisation,” said Cde Kasukuwere.

Speaking at the same occasion, Iranian Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Mr Mohammad Pournajaf said the donation is a token of appreciation for the mutual friendship and unity that exists between his country and Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwe is a great country and while some countries seek to humiliate and bring it down, we seek to partner and foster development in Zimbabwe,” Ambassador Pournajaf said.

Like Zimbabwe, Iran is also under illegal sanctions imposed by the west over a dispute over uranium enrichment.
