Zimbabwe is up against only one rival candidate – Canada – and the successful bidder will also stage the 2014 U20 women’s event.

Germany is staging the next women’s World Cup finals, which kick off in June.

Fifa also says Ghana and Tunisia have bid for the right to host  a number of other major tournaments.

Ghana is bidding to host the U17 World Cup in 2013 and the U17 women’s competition in 2014 while Tunisia has bid for the U17 World Cup in 2015 and the U20 event in 2015.

Final bid documents for all the tournaments have to be lodged with Fifa by the 11th of next month and a decision will be made at the beginning of March.
