The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) and other players in the tourism sector will participate in South Africaâ€™s tourism travel fair dubbed â€˜Indaba 2011â€™ which will run from the 7th to the 11th of next month.
The ZTA is expected to lead a delegation to participate in the Indaba 2011 scheduled for Durban to market Zimbabwe as a choice tourism destination as well as showcase the industryâ€™s products and services.
The tourism Indaba will be held at a time ZTA is making efforts to re-capture tourist arrivals from traditional markets.
Zimbabwe Tourism Authority Executive Director for Destination Marketing, Tesa Chikaponya said participating in the international showcase provides a platform for the local tourism industry to access international tourists.
Indaba 2011 is one of the largest tourism marketing events on the African calendar which attracts international visitors and media from across the world.
The tourism sector is a key player in the countryâ€™s economic revival.
Last year, the country earned US$770 million up from US$523 million in 2009.
International arrivals rose to 2,3 million last year up from 2 million arrivals recorded in 2009.
