Zimbabwean players plying their trade abroad were in fine form with Nyasha Mushekwi, Matthew Rusike, Khama Billiat and Knox Mutizwa on target for their teams.

Warriors star Billiat was on target for Mamelodi Sundowns who overcame Orlando Pirates 2-nil.

The slippery Sundowns man opened the scoring in the 25th minute before Yannick Zakri doubled the lead in the 49th minute of an encounter which Sundowns won 2-nil.

Victory saw Mamelodi Sundowns move into second place with 54 points and within 3 points of log leaders Bidvest Wits.


Still in South Africa, Knox Mutizwa earned Golden Arrows a point thanks to an injury-time equaliser which saw Arrows holding Kaizer Chiefs to a 1-all stalemate.

Despite being headed for a 1-nil loss after Chiefs had surged ahead through Bryce Moon, Mutizwa’s injury-time goal ensured the match ended 1-all denting Amakhosi’s title hopes.


In Tunisia, Matthew Rusike maintained his good goal-scoring form for Club Africain after scoring in his team’s 2-nil win over US Ben Guerdene on Sunday. Rusike who has transformed himself into one of the fans favourites, scored one of the 2 goals for Club Africain.


In China, Nyasha Mushekwi scored another brace which elevated Dalian Yifang to the top of the China league standings. The brace saw Mushekwi cap off a remarkable two weeks that have seen him scoring 4 goals in two matches.

Mushekwi opened the scoring with a 4th minute strike before doubling the lead in the 68th minute. Dalian Yifang’s opponents Shenzhen Kaisa pulled one back but Mushekwi’s team won 2-1 and shot to the summit with 19 points.
