Zimbabwe is eyeing to grow arrivals from Germany by 20 percent this year boosted by positive sentiment and engagements at the International Tourism Bourse (ITB) which kicked of this Wednesday in Berlin, Germany.

Zimbabwe has made a strong statement at this year’s ITB edition, with officials buoyant of a rapid growth of arrival figures that can hit as high as 20 percent.

The Minister of Environment, Tourism and Hospitality Industry said investment appetite from Germany is also visible, amid hopes that this will soon be translated into tangible business deals.

Zimbabwe is among the 90 countries exhibiting at the 2019 edition of the ITB which has attracted over 100,000 trade visitors from Germany and abroad, including 190 countries and regions of exhibitors.

The selling point for Zimbabwe is the open business mantra which already has been embraced within this source market, given engagements between the tourism ministry and the country’s largest airline representatives.

According to Minister Mupfumira, arrivals from Germany will grow this year above the 38 percent received last year.

‍The fair runs until March 10 and is expected to embrace more participants, opportunities and successful trades.
