Zimbabwean born chemical engineer Stephanie Travers has landed a top role in Formula One racing after being announced as the Petronas Trackside Fluid Engineer 2019.

Travers made it into racing car driver, Lewis Hamilton’s Formula One team by defeating 7 000 other applicants and going through a five-stage rigorous selection process.

The development is not only a proud moment for Travers but also for Zimbabwe.

Travers was born in Harare to Maria and Bertram Travers, and she is the grand-daughter of Pat Travers, the late Chairman of Arcadia United FC.
