A team of Zimbabwean chefs will travel to South Africa to take part in the Nelson Mandela African Culinary Challenge Cup to be staged from the 28th of August to the 5th of September.

The Zimbabwean team will comprise of winners of the Zimbabwe Culinary Fusion Expo that was organised by the Zimbabwe Chefs Association earlier this year, among them Kusimudzirana Women Trust in Chitungwiza.

Speaking at a send off ceremony for members of the Kusimudzirana Women Trust this Tuesday in Chitungwiza, the Minister of State for Harare Metropolitan Province, Cde Miriam Chikukwa urged women to work together towards the development of communities.

Founder of Kusimudzirana Women Trust, Mrs Muchaneta Dzikiti and some of the women who are travelling to South Africa for the competition said women should complement government efforts in its various women empowerment initiatives.

Formed in 2013, Kusimudzirana Women Trust is involved in various income generating projects such as poultry, catering and horticulture, among others.
