The visiting Canada cricket team begin their tour of Harare with the first of three 50-over matches against Zimbabwe ‘A’ tomorrow at the Harare Sports Club.
The limited-overs series gets underway when the visitors face Zimbabwe ‘A’.
The Canadians beat a high performance centre made up mostly of Zimbabwe U19 side by 71 runs in a warm up match yesterday, in Highfield at Takashinga Cricket Club.
The three one-day matches will all be played at Harare Sports Club from tomorrow till Friday the 19th.
The Zimbabwe ‘A’ side were busy doing some last minute light training ahead of the first match at the match venue.
The side include some senior players such as veterans Hamilton Masakadza, Solomon Mire, Craig Ervine, Peter J Moor and Sean Williams while several youngsters have also been included in the side.
Canada last toured Zimbabwe in January 2015 for a 50-overs series which Zimbabwe ‘A’ won 3-1.
The Zimbabwe ‘A’ side recently toured Namibia where they played the hosts in four 50-overs matches.
Zimbabwe ‘A’ beat Namibia by 31 runs in the first one-dayer played at Wanderers cricket ground in Windhoek last week Sunday.
In the second match played at the same venue on Tuesday, Zimbabwe ‘A’ hammered the hosts by 135 runs while the last two matches between the two sides were pencilled for Thursday and Friday last week.
