Home Affairs Minister, Cde Ignatius Chombo says Zimbabwe has a lot to learn from the Angolan electoral process which he said is one of the best in the region.

Angola uses biometric voting process and pictures of voters will be at the polling stations. Zimbabwean officials view the system as one of the best methods.

The Angolan ruling party, MPLA won by 61,1 percent while the opposition party, UNITA had 26,7 percent votes.

Dr Chombo and his Local Government, Public Works and National Housing counterpart, Cde Saviour Kasukuwere were part of the Zimbabwean officials who were observers during the just ended Angolan elections.

Dr Chombo said they appreciated the electoral process adopted by Angola which he said is the way to go for Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwe is going for general elections next year and it has adopted a biometric voter registration process for the first time and it is the view of the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) to adopt the biometric voting system if the resources permit.
