basketball 2.jpgReigning Harare and national basketball champions, Mbare Heat continued with their bad patch at the FIBA Zone Six Championship in Johannesburg after falling 70-59 to Zambia’s Pacers in their second match this Wednesday afternoon.

The result becomes the second straight defeat after the Zimbabwean champions lost 95-73 to South Africa’s Soweto Wild Cats in their opening match on Monday.

Basketball Union of Zimbabwe Director of Competitions, Simon Lawson said Mbare Heat will now have to implore the vast experience of its most valuable players if they are to revive hopes of qualifying for the FIBA African Club Championships in Morocco next month.

Mbare Heat is in a tough Pool A that features Angolan giants, Petro De Luanda, Soweto Wild Cats, Pacers from Zambia and Mozambique’s Deportivo De Maputo.
