Team Zimbabwe’s squad for the Outeniqua International Challenge is seeking funding to the tune of about $31000 for it to take part in the event set for George, South Africa.

16 athletes and four officials intend to travel for the 2018 Outeniqua International Challenge in South Africa.

Zimbabwe wheelchair racers have proved beyond doubt that they are conquerors of the event judging by their medal haul in past events.

But to realise their dream the 20-member team is seeking $31 000 to cater for travel, accommodation and kitting expenses.

The team bagged 10 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals in the 2016 event and 4 silver and 3 bronze medals last year 2017.

The team has received part funding from its traditional sponsors but the figure is not sufficient to cater for all needs.
