The country’s arts industry can take a leaf from Nigeria and other countries where the creative arts industry contributes immensely to the gross domestic product (GDP).

This came out at a courtesy call paid to the Minister of Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation, Cde Kazembe Kazembe by the Arterial Network representatives in Harare today.

Addressing the media after the courtesy call, the Secretary General and Zimbabwe President of the Arterial Network, Tojo Yharimaanana said they discussed their efforts to make sure local artists get international exposure.

Minister Kazembe commended efforts by the network to raise the creative arts industry. He added that Zimbabwe can take a leaf from other African countries to give attention to the arts industry.

Arterial Network is a Pan African civil society network group which offers networking platforms for artists, facilitates cultural activities and entrepreneurial skills to artists within the creative arts industry.

The network exists in five regions of the continent.
