The number of exhibitors at this year’s edition of the rebranded Zimbabwe Agricultural Show has surged by 18 percent, with authorities anticipating exhibitor participation to break a 124 year record.
12 days before the rebranded exhibition gets underway in Harare, exhibitors are putting final touches on their stands in anticipation of high volumes of traffic to their stands.
Zimbabwe Agriculture Society (ZAS) CEO, Dr Anxious Masuka confirmed that exhibitor participation has significantly grown to 381 from 324 recorded last year, a development which has pushed them to find ways of accommodating the huge demand.
“We increased exhibition space by 10 000sm2 for this rebranded Zimbabwe Agricultural Show, so our target is to reach 90 000sm2, which will be an all time record in our 124 year history,” he said.
Dr Masuka said they will utilise the platform to develop the local agricultural sector value chains and boost linkages between local and international players.
“Regarding international participation, we have indications from five countries but we must emphasise that the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show is focused at developing the local agricultural sector value chains.
The Harare Agricultural Show was last year rebranded to Zimbabwe Agricultural Show driven by the desire to broaden the scope of the annual event.
