The Zimbabwe “A†cricket team is set to lock horns with New Zealand “A†cricket team in the second of 3 four games set to commence at Harare Sports Club tomorrow (Thursday).
After playing out a draw in the first four day encounter, Zimbabwe “A†and New Zealand “A†are set to again clash in another 4 day encounter on Thursday.
With time having run out on a favourable batting track in the first encounter, the two teams are expected to this time search for a victory that would hand either side a 1-nil lead.
The Kiwis “A†side will be looking up to Daniel Flym and James Franklin who both managed centuries in New Zealand’s 1st innings.
The hosts will however be looking up to Tino Mawoyo who overcame the disappointment of being dismissed for only 16 runs in the first innings, to continue with the form that saw him top scoring for the hosts with impressive contribution of 125 runs in Zimbabwe’s second innings, while Regis Chakabva whose 103 runs helped the hosts post a decent 365 before declaring, will be relishing the prospect of again proving that his century was not a fluke.
On the bowling front the Zim “A†side will be counting on the likes of Njabulo Ncube who grabbed 3 wickets in New Zealand’s 1st innings, while Tinashe Panyangara who picked up 2 wickets apiece in the Kiwi’s 1st and 2nd innings, will be out to prove a point.
The four day encounter which begins on Thursday is expected end on Sunday.
