The Zimbabwe International Film Festival (ZIFF) kicked off on Saturday with a local film titled: ‘Cook Off.’

The 20th edition of the festival is running under the theme: ‘Narratives from Africa.’

Event coordinators said 50 films from Africa will be screened at this year’s event.

ZIFF Trust Communications Coordinator, Privilege Kandi said they expect a high turnout on the festival given its focus on African films.

Also to be broadcast will be the top 10 films from the Smartphone Short Film competition that the festival trust held earlier this year.

The festival will screen films and host workshops, parties as well as the traditional awards night, among other activities during the event that ends on the 8th of September.
