zifa house 25-08-10.jpgThe Zimbabwe Football Association’s Chief Executive Officer, Jonathan Mashingaidze says the board will this Wednesday officially announce the technical team that will take charge of Zimbabwe’s 2013 Nation’s Cup qualifier against Burundi.

With the nation anxiously waiting to find out the technical team that will take charge of Zimbabwe’s assignment with Burundi, Mashingaidze says the board is still deliberating on what stance to take before making an official announcement this Wednesday.

Mashingaidze’s remarks come in the wake of the local football governing body’s decision to suspend 82 players that have been fingered to be part of the biggest match fixing scandal in Zimbabwe’s footballing history.

With 82 players already suspended for international assignments, Norman Mapeza and Joey Antipas are expected to be asked to step aside for the Burundi tie after also appearing as participants in an Asiagate report prepared by an investigating committee that was headed by Ndumiso Gumede.

Speculation has pointed to Klaus Dieter Pagels being appointed to take charge of Zimbabwe’s crucial qualifier with Burundi on an interim basis.

However, Wednesday remains the designated day which the ZIFA board is expected to officially communicate its position.
