The Zimbabwe International Book Fair (ZIBF) has this year embraced the national development agenda that is meant to industrialise, mechanise and modernise the country.

Running under the theme the book: ‘Creating the Future,’ the 2018 edition of the ZIBF to commence on the 24th on this month in Harare, is meant to uphold the national development agenda and the global sustainable development goals.

ZIBF Interim Executive Board Chairperson, Mr Jasper Maenzanise said a number of international publishers have shown a keen interest in participating in this year’s edition of the fair.

“The book fair this year goes along with national development thrust which focuses on industrialisation, mechanisation and modernisation. It also goes in handy with the AU Agenda 2063 that talks about the future and reducing poverty, among other things,” he said.

The book fair will start on the 24th with a two day indaba that will see players in the book industry discussing various issues that affect their industry.
