The Zimbabwe Home Economics Teachers Association (ZHETA) has embraced the new education curriculum which is a talent-focused perspective that offers a framework for business investment.

The new curriculum which has been accepted by teachers in all provinces of the country has been hailed as being able to help create innovative, effective and sustainable solutions to the challenges facing youths when they leave school.

Guest speaker Mrs Cecilia Dubiwa says the new curriculum enables students to be in constant touch with their environment.

Permanent Secretary of education Dr Sylvia Utete-Masango says though the teachers have accepted the new curriculum they have not shifted their thrust from the old curriculum.

Through such initiatives, government to a certain extent is relieved of the burden of being the sole provider of resources towards human capital development.
